Maash Pascal artist statement:

The focus of my work for many years has been The Nature of Nature; its ephemeral and elemental forces, various patterns created by water, the structure of roots and twigs, and imaginary landscape forms, expressed in oil on canvas, and various drawing media.

While my current work is focused on aspects of nature, figurative work has also constituted an important portion of my output, in drawing and paintings.

I have been influenced by diverse aesthetics: cave pain tings, Japanese calligraphy, Modigliani, Cubists, Georgia O’Keefe.

Art is not just what one hopes to achieve, but the salient, internalized focus on how I see and experience the world around me. I am inspired by the physical aspects of nature that ignite my imagination, to hopefully, create something that is surprising and mysterious event to myself.
