Divine Gardens: Mayumi Oda & The Green Gulch Farm Zen Center

Curated by Jennifer Gately

Originally from Japan, artist and activist Mayumi Oda settled in Muir Beach, California in the 1970s.

She began Zen practice at the newly established Green Gulch Farm, where she was inspired by their organic abundance.

In her artwork, Oda celebrates both the feminine and the natural worlds and often plays with traditional Japanese and Buddhist figures by portraying them as goddesses.

This exhibition brings together many of Oda’s most iconic prints, inspired by her connection with the famous farm and her lifelong Buddhist practices.
