Madelaine Matej MacQueen's lyric soprano voice is both powerful and sweet.

Her husband, James Matej MacQueen, is a composer and classical violinist. He performs with StringFire and a Baroque Music Ensemble in Ohio.

Since the 1500s, people have compared the sound of the violin to the human voice.  Surprisingly, works featuring just violin and voice are rare.

In this program, the artists present original works and arrangements of pieces that showcase the happy marriage of the violin and the soprano voice. From madrigals by Monteverdi to works from the 21st century, the duo traces the instruments' romance through history to create an enthralling musical tale!
