Sunday Brunch with Amy Obenski

Sunday Brunch with Amy Obenski

Presented by Fenix at Fenix

Chow down on Biscuits & Gravy, Crawfish & Cajun Sausage Jambalaya, Oven-Fried Buttermilk Chicken, and so much more. All for $24.99 per person and featuring live music by Amy Obenski.

First and foremost, you’ll be struck by Amy Obenski’s crystalline voice, which Performing Songwriter Magazine says, “will hook even the most hardened cynic.” Raised in San Diego and now based in San Francisco, you can hear the sound of the far west in her music. She’s toured the U.S., France, and got her song, “Carousel,” onto the TV show Grey’s Anatomy.

Obenski’s touring in France was done mostly as a collaboration with the Carbone Band. They recorded an album and completed an artist in residence in 2014. In 2016, she saw the release of her sixth album, An Emptiness to Fill, which was a result of a solo, live-looping project that was released with its own coloring book.

Amy’s musical history stretches back to when she was 5 and began singing in her school choir. At 6, she took up piano and has been studying music ever since, finally picking up the guitar when she began songwriting at 22.

When Amy Obsenski lived in Santa Cruz for 15 years, she supported local organizations through a series of benefit concerts called “Take Back Your Forest.” Collectively, they raised $6,000 for the Sempervirens Fund—an organization that purchases and protects the redwood mountains in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Continuing to support these types of organizations as much as possible, her Carbon Conscious global tour raised awareness about the burning of the rainforest in South America and the effects on climate change.
