Photography from the Salvadoran Civil War, Peace Accords, and more
Co-sponsored by Canal Welcome Center and College of Marin
Opening Reception:
* Tuesday, October 16, 4:30-6:00 pm
Exhibit Dates: October 16-December 21
Come see an exhibit of photographs by local artist Giuseppe Dezza from 1900 through 1996 in El Salvador.
This exhibit documents the civil war, the peace accords, and more in El Salvador.
Those of us old enough to remember the 1980s and 90s will remember. Younger generations will learn. All of us can reflect on our country's long history of violence and intervention in Latin America.
We can look for connections between the current immigration crisis and a history of exploitation, poverty, and violence. Finally, the exhibit is a celebration of the canonization by Pope Francis of Monseñor Oscar Romero on October 14 in Rome.
Please join us for the opening reception on Tuesday, October 16, 4:30-6:00. Mr. Dezza and others will speak. Refreshments will be served.
