Marty Knapp, an artist/photographer, in Point Reyes, California is known for his classic black & white photography, and in particular, his extensive portfolio of Point Reyes landscapes.

Widely published and collected for more than thirty years, his work has appeared in Black & White Magazine, Lenswork, the World's Top Photographers, and Point Reyes 20 Years. Knapp's most recent photography explores the wonders of the night sky above the California coast and desert.

A new series features intimate views discovered during his daily walks on the creekside trail near his Point Reyes Station home. Marty's photographs can be seen at the Marty Knapp Photo Gallery in Point Reyes Station and at his website.

The photographs in this exhibit were made over a seven-year period during Marty's daily walks along the Green Bridge Trail near his Point Reyes Station home. They remind us that beauty is best found once we slow down and notice what the light shows us. As the light changes through the seasons and the hours, new views are revealed--invitations to photograph.

Certain places along the trail, unremarkable at one hour, become wondrous light-filled scenes at other times. The low-angled sun highlights openings along the trail creating inviting portals. Fogs create soft mysteries as they blanket still pools in the creek. Super close-up portraits of dewdrops, webs and frost on the often-overlooked but magnificent flora in the wetlands reveal an even deeper layer of the Creator's wondrous design.
