Art lecture about current exhibition at the de Young museum featuring the work of Paul Gauguin

Fine Arts docent Jim Kohn will discuss the deYoung exhibition which explores how revolutionary artist Paul Gauguin’s extensive travels and personal relationships influenced his extraordinary and enigmatic art.
The exhibit features over 50 pieces from Gauguin’s oeuvre, including paintings, wood carvings and ceramics, presented alongside Oceanic art and period photography and writings. This show illuminates Gauguin’s quest to develop his art, discover other cultures, and understand his own spirituality.
