Kathryn Keller: Rock-Paper-Scissors
Kathryn Keller Artist Statement
An intrinsic aspect of how I look at my paintings involves leaving traces of evolution at every step along the way. There is in the layering of paint I find a delight in the archeological discovery when one layer effects the other, and the happy accidents that make a painting interesting. In addition the inspiration from my travels welcomely creep in and out of my work.
Rock-Paper-Scissors
Came about with the addition of enhancing textures by way of paper and linen cut by scissors to create a further richness of layers in addition to the paint. With these materials the referral to the well known game follows the surprise element of randomness.
Kathryn Keller has participated in a number of solo and group shows, works out of her studio located in the historic ICB building, and also serves on the ICB Art Association Board of Directors. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and majored in Environmental Design. After years of world travel and a career in interior design, she returned to her first love of fine art.

Margot Hartford: New Mixed Media
Margot Hartford Artist Statement
As a commercial photographer it is no surprise that photographs keeps appearing in my art work. My work ranges from mixed media collage to the construction of three-dimensional light boxes. Basically anything I can get my hands on. Recently I have been using poured resin, to give my work an overall glossy look. No matter what medium I use I always incorporate my own photographs into the final pieces.
I teach workshops in encaustics and mixed media collage in San Francisco, Mill Valley, and Benica.
