“Exterior” pays homage to architecture and signage through the lens of three diverse Bay Area contemporaries: Michael Murphy, Nate Geare and Terry Thompson.
Opening Reception:
* Wednesday, February 13, 5:30-8:00 pm
Exhibition Dates: February 13 - June 14
Influenced by Modernism, Michael Murphy illustrates the architecture and culture of the movement with boldly colored prints and muted acrylic paintings.
Utilizing oils, acrylics and enamels, Nate Geare expands on his large-scale series, “Barnisms” based on a discipline of postmodern architecture known as Deconstructivism.
Vintage neon signs are the primary focus of the photorealistic oils masterfully painted by Terry Thompson.
Exhibition curated by Micah LeBrun, Consulting Curator for the Marin Community Foundation since 2017. He is also the Art Director and curator for 111 Minna Gallery, a nationally recognized art institution.
