Feminist Culture Club: Educated

Feminist Culture Club: Educated

Presented by The Indie Alley at The Indie Alley

For our March Feminist Culture Club, we’ll be discussing Tara Westover’s striking memoir Educated.

Repeatedly on Best of Lists for 2018 (just see this list over on Amazon), this is a book that has stunned people with its true tale of a seventeen-year-old Westover entering a classroom for the first time after growing up in a Survivalist family in the mountains of Idaho.

Though a deeply personal and moving account of one’s person’s struggle to navigate the reality of their own life, the universals of family, home and courage speak to all of us.

Feminist Culture Club is our monthly book club with a difference. We include podcasts and articles, fiction and non-fiction, short stories and TV series, anything that catches our attention that has been created by women. Since we launched, we’ve discussed the work of Hannah Gadsby, Ali Wong, Lisa Congdon, Chimanda Ngozi Adichie, Jill Soloway, Nigel Poor, Amy Sherman Palladino and more.

You don’t need to be a Member to attend. All you have to do is register for your spot at Feminist Culture Club, then read the book. Super simple.
