Hannah Perrine Mode:  Current

Perrine Mode is a Gallery Route One 2018-19 Senior Fellow.

Gallery Route One is please to present Currentan exhibition of recent work by Hannah Perrine Mode. Referring to both a state of time and a directional flow, Current considers the relationship between bodies of water: freshwater glaciers, saltwater oceans, and our human bodies moving between them.

Current includes experimental photographs, paintings, sculptures, and videos, often made in the field while collaborating with science and wilderness expeditions in e world including Alaska, Patagonia, and Iceland.

Hannah Perrine Mode is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. She is thrilled to be a 2018-19 Gallery Route One Senior Fellow.

Hannah Hersko:  Tracing Voids (multimedia installation)

Hersko is a Gallery Route One 2018-19 Senior Fellow.

Hannah Hersko is an American Jewish artist from Cincinnati, Ohio whose family emigrated from Germany and Hungary. She is featured in Gallery Route One "Far From Home" exhibition series.

While working in Berlin, Hersko visited Holocaust memorials and museums and had a personal revelation: "Standing in front of these monuments, I was faced with the voids in my own life… I knew I was standing in the space of loss that cannot be seen." Many of the objects in Tracing Voids are similar in form to rigid, static monuments, Hersko uses ephemeral materials such as powdered graphite to trace movement and leave imprints, allowing voids to become tangible.

Kathy Sirico:  Apparitions

Sirico is the Gallery Route One 2018-19 Emerging Fellow.

Kathy Sirico is a San Francisco-based artist working at the intersection of sculpture, painting, textiles, and installation. Sirico’s works examine post-climate futures through experimental textile collage based practices.

Apparitions will feature an immersive installation of Sirico’s recent large-scale textile sculpture, Between Two Worlds.

Through a maximalist approach, Sirico seeks to build radical empathy, weaving narratives of memory, desire, and loss in a world threatened by climate catastrophe.
