Art Lecture - Monet: the Late Years

Art Lecture - Monet: the Late Years

Presented by Mill Valley Public Library at Mill Valley Public Library

Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco docent Julia Geist will discuss the Legion of Honor exhibition which features paintings dating from the final phase of Monet's long career.

During his later years, the well-traveled artist stayed close to home, inspired by the evolving scenery of his Giverny garden.

The exhibition focuses on the series that Monet invented and reinvented, and which redefined the master of impressionism as a forebear of modernism.
