Charles Versaggi and Caitlin McCrory-Tomelden share their passion for bird photography in this month’s celebration of the 49th Anniversary of Earth Month.

The exhibit of complementary images highlights the variety of birds and their habitats that make Marin County a special place for enjoying the aesthetics of nature.

WINGED IMPRESSIONS presents the work of McCrory-Tomelden, a native of Berkeley and a resident of Terra Linda. She has enjoyed creating artful images since her youth, but bird photography has deepened her love for the medium.

“Capturing the perfect play of light, color and motion of birds in their natural habitat inspires my passion for nature photography and deepens my connection to the wilderness. Through my images I strive to capture fleeting impressions that might otherwise go unnoticed.”

LIGHT AS A FEATHER provides a sensitive view of waterbirds — egrets and herons, ducks, and other wading birds, that inhabit our baylands and marshes. A native San Franciscan who now lives in San Rafael, Versaggi was trained as a marine biologist, and enjoys watching and photographing the beauty of aquatic birds as much as he loves taking candid photos of people.
