Curated by Elia Haworth

Painter Thomas Quinn endows his bird and animal subjects with such nuanced realism that the viewer experiences an almost visceral sense of their presence.

Inspired by art from the Chinese Sung Dynasty and Japanese Edo Period, Quinn uses thin layers of gouache in transparent strokes.

Internationally recognized, his work is collected by museums in the United States and has been exhibited from Beijing, China to Bonn, Germany. Quinn grew up in Marin County, graduated with distinction from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, and worked in New York as an illustrator for major publications before moving permanently to the Point Reyes area.
