Afro-Cuban star returns with his band to Summer Nights
The 27th Annual Summer Nights Series of live music, food, cocktails, dancing, and fun for everyone under beautiful Marin skies continues with the return of a Marin favorite: Afro Cuban beats from Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca.
Having established himself as a multi-cultural music pioneer, Ricardo is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora, connecting back to Mother Africa via the Cuban clave rhythm. He is equally at home singing in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala and Kikongo.
Since forming his Los Angeles-based band Makina Loca in 1990, Lemvo has refined his craft and vision, raising his joyous voice with strength, singing songs that celebrate life, and most importantly, inspiring his audiences to let loose and dance away their worries.
Bright horns, fat bass lines, amazing percussion and melodies that linger for days - be prepared for a street party that you’ll have to dance through!
Salsa Marin partners with us for this event and will be providing pre-concert salsa dance instruction.

This event will include a pre-concert Salsa Class provided by Salsa Marin, Kid Zone with hands on activities for little ones and a playground on-site. Dinners, food, drinks, snacks, Peets coffee, and a cocktails at the full bar available for purchase. Only low-backed, low seated chairs allowed on turf. Tall chairs will be requested to move to the perimeter to the turf seating. No alcohol or glass allowed within venue.

Directions
From Highway 101 in San Rafael, take the North San Pedro exit and head east. The Osher Marin JCC, at 200 N. San Pedro Road, is on the right-hand side, half a mile from the freeway exit.
Free Parking
* The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center's parking lot is located directly in front of the building with parking spaces for disabled patrons available.
* Additional parking is available at the JCC Annex lot, located at 210 N. San Pedro Road (just east of the main campus). In the event of multiple programs, or heavily attended events, overflow vehicles may be directed to available street parking or on adjacent properties.
* Evenings and weekends only: There is additional parking across the street at Venetia Valley School.
