Long after this film was released as a thriller, Bruce Joel Rubin revealed that his screenplay was inspired by the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Tim Robbins stars as a Vietnam veteran mourning his dead child and struggling to maintain his sanity. With Elizabeth Peña, Danny Aiello, Jason Alexander.
