Weaving traditional practices in a new way: 5Rhythms® dance and more, to call in Spirit
Sylvie Minot and Wendy Heffner invite you to join them for a 2-day Medicine Circle in Marin on October 19th and 20th.
Medicine Circle workshops weave together traditional practices in a new way, utilizing 5Rhythms® dance, sound healing, ritual, community, prayer, and connection to Spirit.
Circles have been used by many indigenous cultures throughout time as a place for ceremony and transformation.
In Medicine Circle, we incorporate the 5Rhythms movement practice, draw from cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien’s teachings and her work with indigenous culture, and incorporate sound healing practices Sylvie cultivated while studying with Tito La Rosa.
In Medicine Circle, we dance, and the circle holds the big, small, quiet, loud, joyful, still, cathartic, and everything-in-between dances. We use sound – drums, rattles, bells, rain sticks, and song – to call Spirit back in.
As we create this sacred container to hold each other, dancers may enter into the center and move with whatever is calling for expression or healing, finding greater freedom, connection and peace.
