Native artist with an exciting new exhibit in mixed media
Opening Reception:
* Sunday, August 4, 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Exhibit Dates: August 4 - November 4
Henry Frank, a native artist and MAI vice-president, opens an exciting new exhibit in mixed media with an artist's reception on Sunday, August 4, from 3 to 5 PM.
There will be music and refreshments on the substantially remodeled second floor of the museum. There are some forty pieces, including prints, photos, acrylic paintings, drawings in various mediums, and gourd art.
Henry Frank is from the Yurok and Pomo Nations. He is also a successful photographer and has created a number of greeting cards, including some for our museum, through his business, RedTail Art. This exhibit, titled "Trust the Spirits" is not to be missed, and will be in the Museum Gallery through November 4th.
A favorite piece, featured at the Marin County Fair, portrays frisky woodpeckers at play and was inspired by a walk taken by Henry and his wife Diana near Kule Loklo. The exhibit includes a huge bear, eagles, a placid turtle, mountain lions, and several representations of musical instruments in addition to a photo collage of his creative process. Henry’s work radiates good feelings and a love of nature. We look forward to seeing you at this event!
