Artist Claude Ibrahimoff presents her latest creations, puzzles and vagaries about time, symbols of transformation, perpetual movement and impermanence.
Claude Ibrahimoff was born in France where she studied at a design school and worked as an apprentice in the atelier of the Italian sculptor Louis Molinari. While painting and working on collages, she pursued her studies in Soviet cinema and art. Soon after, she left Paris for San Francisco, where she worked as a film editor on several independently produced films and documentaries, and finally settled in Marin County.
There she began work on a series of "Totems," mixed media sculptural and abstract pieces on wood, moving from free-form abstraction to geometric totems. In parallel she works on a series of smaller canvases, combining bright colors and simple basic shapes to translate feelings of light and space. She has participated in several exhibits in France and local venues in Marin County.
