Youth in Arts will celebrate National Arts in Education Week with a special State of the Arts event celebrating the progress Marin County has made since its Arts Education Plan was released a year ago.

The event will be held Friday, Sept. 13 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the YIA gallery, 917 C St., San Rafael and coincides with the 2nd Friday Art Walk in downtown San Rafael.  

We'll also be saying farewell to our wonderful and dedicated executive director, Miko Lee, after 13 years.

'Til Dawn, Youth in Arts' award-winning teen a cappella ensemble, will perform.

National Arts in Education events are being held across the country Sept. 8 -14 to  underscore the importance of providing arts programming in schools that reach all learners.
