2020 Recycled Materials Art Competition

2020 Recycled Materials Art Competition

Presented by PaperSeed Foundation at PaperSeed Foundation

After a brief hiatus, we are honored to announce the return of the Recycled Materials Art Competition (RMAC) for Spring 2020.

The competition was created to promote recycling and reuse of materials emphasizing creativity and innovation, in line with California’s goals to divert waste from landfills and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The RMAC is an opportunity for Marin County children to learn more about recycling, responsible use of resources, and sustainable living through creative exploration.

Our goal is to raise public awareness and support of educational programming focused on recycling, reducing, and reusing of materials while building strong coalitions between community stakeholders in education, sustainability, and the arts.

More than just an art competition, the RMAC is a growing movement that brings Marin County educators, businesses, sustainability stakeholders, and community leaders together and make positive change through creative expression.

In order to participate, your child's teacher must register their classroom through our website.

Students are challenged to create works of art out of items that would typically be recycled, for example: plastic bottles and containers, tin cans, aluminum cans, cardboard, and paper. Students can either create art pieces individually or as a classroom. Additional art supplies may be used.
