Paintings and collages by Frances McCormack and installations by Miya Hannan
Opening Reception:
* Saturday, March 7, 4:00-6:00 pm
Exhibition Dates: March 7 - April 26
Frances McCormack invents vivid abstract forms conjuring trees, roots and vines, often exposing the unseen and underground.
Miya Hannan’s work echoes her view of the world as one comprised of layers and linkages of history, a chain of lives and events that leads from one to the next.
McCormack’s paintings and collages and Hannan’s installations use nature as an inspiration in their artistic exploration.
Painter Frances McCormack and installation artist Miya Hannan will surprise you with their enigmatic explorations of the earth and the heavens. Combining landscape design drawings, stark architectural elements and loosely interpreted botanical forms, MCormack’s paintings manifest a range of felt energies reflected through the natural world in an invented space. Hannan’s installations evoke layers of human histories, with endings and new beginnings; life and death. Curiosity drives both artists to continuously discover and challenge.
