Clay module: July 13 - 21
Instructor: Jazmin Harrington
This module will focus on hand building techniques, and students will go home with functional art. Jazmin will teach all aspects of working with clay from sculpting to glazing. Students will make cups, figurines, maracas and more! The focus is on having fun, while also making objects with clay that kids can take home to use and love forever.
Jazmin Harrington is a ceramic sculpture artist from Oakland. She graduated from San Francisco State with a BA in Studio Art and Education. She has been playing with clay for six years and loves every minute of it.
Painting and Mixed Media Exploration module: July 22 - 31
Instructor: Taylor Mancini
Students will explore painting techniques, basic printmaking, and incorporate natural objects found outdoors. The goal is for students to complete a different project each day, building on skills they learned the previous day. Studio time will include demos and allow for 1:1 assistance to develop ideas and skill.
Taylor Mancini is Director of the Drawing and Painting program at Marin School of the Arts. She loves her job and adores her incredibly talented students.
