LOCAL>> Still Unleashing the Power: Marguerite Elliot in conversation with Elizabeth Addison

Presented by O’Hanlon Center for the Arts at Streaming Arts

In conjunction with the 2020 Women’s show, O’Hanlon Center for the Arts presents an evening with founding member of the The Woman’s Building and Feminist Studio Workshop, Marguerite Elliot in conversation with Elizabeth Addison.

In addition to sharing examples of Marguerite's own art, the program will highlight the work of other women artists Marguerite knew back in the 1970s as well as other artists she is in touch with now, whose work tackles the pressing issues of the day and confronts conventional thinking.

“I am grateful to have been at the forefront of the second wave of feminism. We broke many rules, upset many established conventions, and shook up the art world. My work continues to question the norm and confront stereotypes, with a focus on environmental issues.”

Marguerite will be interviewed by her friend and NCWCA colleague, artist Elizabeth Addison. Their conversation will shine a light on why she and other feminist artists continue to address urgent issues that affect all of us today.
