Mt. Olivet Cemetery – Halloween Walking Tour

Presented by Marin History Museum at Mt. Olivet Cemetary

There is a sharp contrast among the current residents of San Rafael's cemetery.

Join Marin historian Marcie Miller for a guided tour of stories filled with history and scandal.

You'll learn about some of Marin's most prominent pioneers to convicts executed at San Quentin - you don't want to miss out!

Land donated by John Lucas in 1897 created the cemetery to relocate those buried at Mission San Rafael. Learn about cemetery statuary, Victorian beliefs, and why San Rafael was moving grave sites. Visit the final locations of the notorious Barbara Graham, first woman executed, Ethel Spinelli, and founding father Timothy Murphy.
