LOCAL>> Marin City Live! Author Event: Renée Watson

Presented by Marin County Free Library at Streaming Arts

The Marin City Library is proud to welcome New York Times bestselling author, educator, and activist Renée Watson.

Her novel, Piecing Me Together, received a Newbery Honor and Coretta Scott King Award. Her books include Some Places More Than Others; This Side of Home; What Momma Left Me; Betty Before X, cowritten with Ilyasah Shabazz; and Watch Us Rise, cowritten with Ellen Hagan, as well as two highly acclaimed picture books: A Place Where Hurricanes Happen and Harlem's Little Blackbird, which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.

Renée will be reading from her new middle-grade book, Ways to Make Sunshine, the first in the Ryan Hart series. Meet plucky fourth-grader Ryan Hart and see how she navigates the ups and downs of moving to a new neighborhood, starting at a new school, and dealing with her annoying older brother. No matter what, Ryan always finds ways to make sunshine.
