The story of an undocumented singer-songwriter’s music and journey home
Please join Canal Alliance and the Association of Latino Marin Attorneys (ALMA) for a virtual screening of Dear Homeland.
Dear Homeland is a documentary film by Claudia Escobar produced by KQED that shares the story of undocumented immigrant singer/songwriter Diana Gameros’ coming of age in the United States as she journeys from her home Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, to San Francisco, California. We see her assert herself as a musician and advocate for immigrant rights and discover her story about family, resilience and the complex meaning of the word home.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Lucia Martel-Dow, Director of Immigration and Social Services at Canal Alliance.
