Debut novelist Aya de Leon writes about race, gender, and culture. She teaches poetry at UC Berkeley and is a former artist in residence at Stanford University. Aya and Maria will discuss de Leon's first novel, Uptown Thief, delving into the story's artful blending of social justice with a juicy heist in the same narrative.
