Gallery Route One is pleased to present “Crossing the Divide,” the gallery’s 2021 Annual Juried Exhibition. Viewable online, and in-person with safety protocols.

Representing the work of fifty-two local and regional artists, the exhibit will feature a captivating collection of work in a variety of media including painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, textiles and sculpture.

Through a myriad of different images and forms, this year’s Juried Exhibition focuses on the transformative processes made manifest by the act of making art during our unprecedented times.

The many social, political, racial and environmental issues which have characterized the 2020 COVID era have run parallel to larger cultural shifts introduced by isolation and the deepening of political dichotomies. Calling upon the need to negotiate adversity and to ultimately discover renewal through healing, the artists of “Crossing the Divide” interpret not only the disparities and divisions of 2020, but also the means by which transformations might occur as new ideas and new realities are born through the creative process.

Included in the exhibition is the artwork of Michael Acker, Charles Anselmo, Alan Babbitt, Wendy Baker, Janet Bogardus, Sue Bradford, Heidi Brueckner, Austin Buckingham, Marna Clarke, Valerie Corvin, Daniel Crowe, Ian Day, Susan Doyle, Jeff Dunn, Dale Eastman, Laurence Elias, James Finnegan, Barbara Foster, Marilyn Geary, Wendy Goldberg, Michael Goldman, Jenny-Lynn Hall, Ron Hall, Victoria Hamlin, Doug Herr, Dianne Hoffman, Mihir Joshi, Crystal Kamoroff, Joanna Kidd, Issac Klotz, Diana Marto, Beth Marx, Gloria Matuszewski, Pamela Mooney, Zea Morvitz, Renee Owen, Dare Porter, Katie Revilla, Kay Russell, Igor Sazevich, Robin Sebourn, Heidi Berrin Shonkoff, Jack Stone, Inez Storer, Susan Sweet, Patricia Thomas, Hillary Turner, Nico van Dongen, Ellen Vogel, Ayumi Kie Weissbuch, Nancy Willis, Arlene Wohl and Kelsey Woodward.
