Join Dominican University’s MFA in Creative Writing Program for a free virtual craft talk.

Saturday, June 5,  4-6pm PST

We are thrilled to welcome Leanne Betasamosake Simpson as the keynote speaker for our upcoming MFA in Creative Writing Residency.

This event is open for public registration, but the week-long residency is limited to MFA students.

Leanne will discuss her recent novel in the context of Nishnaabe oral practice, aesthetics and storytelling, generative refusal and world-building.

Leanne is a renowned Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg scholar, writer and artist, who has been widely recognized as one of the most compelling Indigenous voices of her generation. Her work breaks open the intersections between politics, story and song—bringing audiences into a rich and layered world of sound, light, and sovereign creativity.

Registration is required. This event will take place on Zoom.

This creative writing event is a service to the public and there is no charge for participating. Dominican University of California is a nonprofit institution. We invite you to learn more about our Low Residency Creative Writing MFA Program.
