Renowned MC, DJ, and Songwriter, Jahi, takes a journey in improvisation, jazz music blended with Hip Hop breaks, with freestyles & original songs saluting various Jazz greats from around the world.

Jahi is an MC, author, curator and educator originally from East Cleveland, Ohio, now residing in Oakland since 1999. Jahi has released 17 solo albums. He is affiliated with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group, Public Enemy as PE 2.0 and Enemy Radio. His label, Microphone Mechanics, is distributed by Bob Marley’s iconic label, Tuff Gong International.

As a curator, Jahi was a key collaborator with “Respect: Hip Hop Style and Wisdom” with the Oakland Museum of California, and curated “Soul of a Nation Block Party” at the deYoung Museum. He has traveled to 20 museums around the world presenting Hip Hop as a world culture with life affirming principles. Jahi is an avid reader, enjoys ornithology and playing chess.
