200+ drawings, paintings, architecture models etc., by TK-5 students – in the YIA Gallery
* June 10 - September 10
More than 200 drawings, paintings, architecture models and other works will be on display as part of "Laurel Dell Imagines Friendship and Community" from June 10-Sept. 10 at the YIA Gallery.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, students in grades TK to 5 successfully used YIArts.COR (our digital learning platform) to create self portraits, build bridges, design library entrances and make other art from their homes and classrooms.
"Laurel Dell Imagines Friendship and Community" can also be enjoyed online using a 3D tool that enables viewers to “walk” through the exhibit.
This summer, children can visit the gallery in person. They can see the Laurel Dell artwork and also make their own art in our free Art Lab weekdays from 1 to 4 pm. For the next four Thursdays, the Art Lab will stay open until 5 pm.
Want to visit later in the evening? Youth in Arts’ Mobile Art Lab will be on the streets from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, near the San Rafael Farmers’ Market. Look for the red and white stand starting this week (June 10). The mobile Art Lab will also be on the go June 17, June 21 and July 1, with future dates to be determined. Capacity at both Art Labs is limited.
