Through historic and contemporary maps and photos that focus on Bolinas and Marin County in the Bay Area, this exhibit presents a fascinating overview of place, natural history, and layered cultures, from Native American villages to today’s sophisticated technology that facilitates our searches on Google Earth.
Historical examples, such as a hand-drawn map published in the 1800s from U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, show astonishing cartographic accuracy.
