Artist Talk: Photographer Beverly Conley

Beverly Conley will discuss her storied career as a documentary photographer, the experience of attending this event, and some of her other documentary projects, in a conversation with Kristy Headley and our audience.

This in-person event is the fourth in a series of five artist talks, in support of the five-artist exhibition 'Off the Beaten Path.'

Events will be held at Collectors’ Photography Gallery, 105 Corte Madera Town Center, Corte Madera, CA 94925. Drinks and snacks will be provided with proof of vaccination. These are masked events in accordance with current Marin County health guidelines.

 

Beverly Conley is a documentary photographer in Benicia, California. She finds satisfaction in long-term, self-assigned projects that focus on individuals and contemporary society. She has entered the private worlds of Gypsies in England, the Cherokee Nation in Northeastern Oklahoma, steelworkers in Weirton, West Virginia and Cape Verdean Communities in Boston and in the Cape Verde Islands.

She is represented in numerous permanent collections including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Museum of London, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, the Toledo Museum of Art, and the Boston Public Library.
