Antigone by Jean Anouilh

Antigone by Jean Anouilh

Presented by College of Marin Performing Arts Department at College of Marin Performing Arts - Kentfield Campus

Tragedy, love, deceit, and disaster.

Join us at the Studio Theatre on College of Marin's Kentfield campus for this classic tale with a modern spin. It's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Jean Anouilh's Antigone was written during WWII when Paris was under Nazi occupation.

It bares the effect that a disastrous war has had on a powerful family whose ambitions, jealousies, deceits, and politics create a tyrant.

It is also the story of the resistance of a young woman to a decree that is both cruel and inhuman and who knows her act of disobedience will only lead to her death.

Adapted by Lewis Galantiére
Directed by Ellen Brooks
