** CANCELLED ** "Joey’s Song" – a concert to benefit The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California

Presented by Sweetwater Music Hall at Sweetwater Music Hall

Joey’s Song started in 2010 following the death of four-year-old Joey Gomoll.  He was one week short of his 5th birthday.

Joey suffered from a rare and debilitating form of epilepsy known as Dravet Syndrome. Since then, Joey’s family has put on an incredible rock-n-roll show featuring Grammy Award Winning artists in Madison, Wisconsin.

This year’s benefit concert will be the biggest and most adventurous to date! The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California brings Joey’s Song to the West Coast.

Join us on January 8th, 2022, at Sweetwater Music Hall, Mill Valley, for a “hybrid” concert featuring a stream from Wisconsin’s and our very own live show!

Joey’s Song will truly be an event that brings us all together, from coast to coast, that we hope to make an annual event. Get your tickets today!

2022 LINE-UP

This year’s event features a virtual and live line-up. The virtual show starts at 7pm and the live show will start at 8pm PST.

Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise are a country-tinged indie rock band from California. Playing all original music all the time, the tunes pull from strange dreams and games of chance. With a storyteller’s feel for lyrics and a right hand rooted in rhythm, Tom’s tunes are sweetly nostalgic while still present in their approach.

Inspired by the cosmic funk stylings of your favorite funk jams, Silent Way brings you the groove through new takes on the jazz and funk greats.  (Feat. Michael Schwartz, Alois Cerbu, Adam Briere, Jules Leyhe, Milo Horstman, and Jason Zucker)

After cutting his teeth on open mics around the Bay Area, San Francisco songwriter Matt Jaffe was discovered by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Together, they produced his first album at the age of 16, cementing Matt’s dedication to music. Soon, he formed a band, dropped out of college, and has not looked back.

Since then, Matt has written more songs than he can remember the words to, crisscrossed the country opening for Blues Traveler and Wilco, and co-written with Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. Inspired by the great lineage of rock n’ roll, he marries literary lyrics with the undeniable urge to dance.

Matt has served as musical director for experimental theater, collaborated with poets on genre-bending spoken word, and curated residencies among fellow songwriters. Having suffered from seizures since 2015, Matt also uses his music to unite local and national epilepsy communities. Matt is currently rolling out his fourth and fifth albums, Undertoad and Kintsugi.
