A free virtual creative writing event hosted by Dominican University’s Creative Writing MFA Program
We will write and discuss imagery that can help process both positive and negative experience and unite disparate parts of the self.
Unification has been a core tenant of improving mental health for 100 years. Of special interest will be the discovery of the shadow and the toleration of ambivalence.
Eliot Schain’s poetry has appeared in Ploughshares, American Poetry Review, Santa Monica Review, and Miramar, among other journals, as well as in four anthologies, including America, We Call Your Name: Poems of Resistance and Resilience. He most recent collection, The Distant Sound, was published by Sixteen Rivers Press in 2020. He has served as the program director for the Poetry Society of America, taught high school, and now works as a psychotherapist in Berkeley, CA.
