Gary is a percussionist, composer, and producer known for his genre-defying music drawing from a broad global landscape of classical, jazz, and world folk traditions combined with the sounds of nature.
Inspired by Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road project, Gary’s current album, Roots & Wings, features 24 master musicians from eight countries. It won the top prize at the prestigious Global Music Awards in 2021.
He will be joined by special guest, Oakland-based master cellist, Joseph Hebert, in a program featuring structured compositions and improvisations.
