July 26 – The Merry Widow
Original Broadcast: 2015
The great Renée Fleming stars as the heiress who captivates all of Paris in Lehár’s enchanting operetta, recorded live from the Metropolitan Opera in 2015. Baritone Nathan Gunn co-stars as Danilo, and Broadway legend Kelli O’Hara is Valencienne, in a dazzling production directed and choreographed by Tony Award–winner Susan Stroman. Andrew Davis conducts.


August 2 – Madama Butterfly
Original Broadcast: 2009
Anthony Minghella
’s beautiful, atmospheric production of Puccini’s tragedy returns to cinemas this summer in a stunning performance recorded live from the Metropolitan Opera in 2009. Soprano Patricia Racette stars as Cio-Cio-San, the trusting and innocent young geisha who disastrously falls in love with American Navy lieutenant B. F. Pinkerton, sung by tenor Marcello Giordani. Patrick Summers conducts.


August 9 – La Bohéme
Original Broadcast: 2018

In this encore performance from 2018, soprano Sonya Yoncheva and tenor Michael Fabiano star as the young lovers Mimì and Rodolfo in Puccini’s timeless love story. Rounding out the cast are soprano Susanna Phillips, baritones Lucas Meachem and Alexey Lavrov, and bass Matthew Rose as the rambunctious gang of bohemian friends in Franco Zeffirelli’s classic staging, an audience favorite for more than 40 years. Marco Armiliato conducts.


August 16 – La Fille du Régiment
Original Broadcast: 2008

In this encore performance from 2008, madcap comedy and impeccable coloratura come together in Natalie Dessay’s indelible portrayal of the feisty tomboy Marie, raised by a regiment of French soldiers. Tenor Juan Diego Flórez stars alongside her as the young Swiss villager who conquers her heart—and a slew of high Cs—in Laurent Pelly’s charming staging. Marco Armiliato conducts.
