The San Geronimo Valley Community Center is very proud to present the Adventures in Fragments, Emotion, Light and Form featuring the paintings and lamp sculptures of Carole Alter in the Maurice Del Mue Galleries during the month of January.

After working with jewelry and mosaics on flat surfaces, Alter started to make mosaics in the form of sculptural lamps.

Born in Philadelphia, Alter has lived in the Valley for over a decade. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Tyler School of Art, The Western Design Institute and other academic institutions but describes herself as mostly self-taught. Alter has exhibited in the Community Center’s annual Spring Art Show and other Center group shows.
