Creative Writing Retreat

Join us for a day of writing and inspiration. MFA faculty will lead writing workshops and close reading discussion groups. There will be a group lunch, an outdoor journal writing activity, and an open mic. Events will be held on campus at Dominican University in Edgehill Mansion. We are also offering an online option over Zoom that follows a similar schedule. T

About our MFA in Creative Writing
Our low-residency MFA in Creative Writing welcomes you to a vibrant community of writers and dedicated faculty, in an unsurpassed San Francisco Bay Area location. Whether you are a poet looking to hone your craft, an aspiring novelist who wants to get that book written, or a memoirist with an urgent story to tell, our MFA program will help you achieve your writing goals.
In addition to the genres of Poetry, Fiction and Creative Nonfiction, Dominican offers an optional track in Narrative/Poetic Medicine, which allows students to embrace the special role that creative writing can play in the process of healing. Students in the MFA Creative Writing program are encouraged to experiment across genres and with new forms of writing.

This event will be running during the University's Instant Decision Day for graduate admissions. Time has been set aside in the retreat schedule for participants who are planning on applying to the MFA program that day and are scheduled to meet with the program director and admissions counselor.
