Chase Langford
Inspired by cartography from an early age, Chase Langford’s abstract paintings transform the familiarity of cities and maps into fluid visions, evoking the feeling of the location with carefully selected color and precise shapes. In the 1980’s, after studying cartography at UC Santa Barbara and drawing maps for the UCLA faculty, Langford began exploring ways to combine his mastery of map-making with his love of fine art.

John Karl Claes
California native John Karl Claes’ landscapes enthrall his viewers, drawing them in with the endless horizons, geometric compositions, and vivid, unexpected colors. Upon his return to the San Joaquin Valley after studying art on the East Coast, Claes found the inspiration he had been searching for — the overwhelming openness of the Central Californian agricultural spaces. Not long thereafter, Claes began exploring the area in a friend’s tiny agricultural plane, finally discovering the vantage point from which to capture the true endlessness he found so inspirational.

Patrick Nelson

Patrick Nelson is a celebrated collage Artist. He stains vintage newspaper clippings with color-dye and uses them to create larger images. The busyness of retro print media balances the reductive approach to his subject matter. Patrick's graphic aesthetic comes from his precise line work, simplified shapes and dramatic contrast.
The detail in newspaper represents the texture of society; viewers can feel that sense of history frozen in time. A person takes in the headlines, stories and advertisements, experiences them in the context of the collage at large, and draws connections between the two.
Patrick studied Art and Design at Cal Poly SLO, then continued his graduate work in Graphic Design at The Academy of Art University. His work has been showcased at The de Young Museum in San Francisco
