November 12, 5–8pm • participating venues in downtown San Rafael
The 2nd Friday Art Walk has finally returned to in-real-life (I.R.L.) activity. While the event is recuperating and building back to it's pre-covid vibrancy, we are thankful for the opportunity to connect and heal through art and community. Please remember your mask to be respectful of each venue's mask requirements. Happy Art Walk!
Art Works Downtown 1325–1337 Fourth Street, 5–8pm
Aroma Cafe 1122 Fourth Street, 5–7pm
I tend to shoot photos intuitively, much like keeping a visual journal. When I have my camera in hand, I’m very actively engaged with my surroundings. As such, photography is my gateway for connecting to the world around me, and communicating what I feel. With that, I strive to illuminate the simple beauty that is all around us. I want to reveal an unnoticed gesture, focus on parts of the whole or draw the viewer into a world not before seen. I hope that people come away with new insights, another way to see the familiar.
Falkirk Cultural Center 1400 Fifth Avenue, 5–8pm
Autumn Color by the California Watercolor Association
Enjoy beautiful autumn-inspired watercolor paintings in the Fallkirk Galleries by 30 artists from throughout California.
Marin Jewelers Guild 1331 Fourth Street, 5–8pm
Meet and greet with guest jewelers Maria-Tina Karamanlakis, Sam Huang, and painter Nancy Lloyd.
Nancy Lloyd paints in oils on panel and canvas. For her, painting is an escape from the stresses of daily life. Nancy’s paintings are influenced by the energy, discourse and free-thinking way of California, as well as the physical beauty and diversity of the land.
The Virtual Art Walk / Artist Symposium is currently on hold for now.
The Art Walks were offered online through Zoom for the past year. Unexpectedly, this created a successful new program—the Artist Symposium. AWD recognizes the value of this new program and is working towards integrating it back into the 2022 programing. Until then the symposium is on hold. Thank you to all the artists and attendees who made it so special. Please stay tuned, the symposium will return.
