MarinArts congratulates all of the Marin-based artists who have been selected for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco’s exhibition entitled The de Young Open.
We’re excited to imagine an exhibition of 762 artists that are exclusively from the nine counties of the Bay Area counties. We commend the de Young curators for creating a locally-focused exhibit to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the museum at a time when local artists could use the extra support. By staying local, we are thrilled that this format of exhibition reduces the carbon footprint of the art world in 2020-2021.
We can’t wait to visit this juried exhibition, hung floor to ceiling in the walls of the 12,000 square feet of the Herbst Exhibition Galleries. We look forward to seeing how the myriad works of art from all of the Bay Area create a collage of perspectives that together reflects our community.
