Copperfield's Books, Larkspur

It began as a vision for a truly full-service community-based bookstore by owners Paul Jaffe and Barney Brown, who purchased Sebastopol’s Myst Bookstore in June of 1981 and changed the name to Copperfield’s Books. From that 725 square foot storefront, Copperfield’s began to attract book lovers from all over Sonoma County, opening additional branches in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Napa, Calistoga, and Healdsburg.

In 2013, Copperfield’s expanded into Marin County with the opening of our San Rafael store, followed by our Novato store in the spring of 2016. Copperfield’s beautiful new Novato store welcomes the community with close to 6000 square feet, roomy enough for browsing the latest best sellers to classics, fiction and nonfiction for kids and adults. You’ll also discover a unique selection of gifts for book lovers and a terrific in-store event program featuring local, debut, and well-known authors.

We have never forgotten our roots as a local independent bookseller, committed to supporting the local communities we serve.
