Songs from Hollywood to cabaret to experimental, with texts inspired by history
Ann Elizabeth Jones, Soprano
Daniel Lockert, Piano
Campbell Hall, Christ Church, Sausalito
From the lyrical “Hollywood” style writing of Erich Korngold and the whimsical cabaret songs of William Bolcom, to the more tonally experimental music of Libby Larsen, soprano Ann Elizabeth Jones and pianist Daniel Lockert present songs by composers that have chosen texts that reach deep into history for inspiration, including those of Shakespeare, ancient Greek graffiti, and the last words uttered by the wives of King Henry VIII.
The Sausalito Song Society fosters a love of art song and cabaret through innovative and original programming.
