Attractive, confident Hal Carter hops off a train in this small Kansas town, on the day of the Labor Day Picnic.
Hal hopes to hit up his successful college buddy, Alan Seymour, for a job.
Over the next 24 hours, Hal’s boundless energy excites and unnerves the women of the town, awakening their repressed or undiscovered dreams and desires, both for better and worse.
