1st Annual Marin Powwow

1st Annual Marin Powwow

A celebration of the Indigenous communities that live and work in Marin, on Coast Miwok land.

* Sunday, March 19, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

All are welcome to the 1st Annual Marin Powwow as we join in celebration of the Indigenous communities that live and work in Marin, on Coast Miwok land.

Since 1968 the Marin American Indian Alliance has been a place where Indigenous folks get together to share traditions, songs, dances, prayer, so we are excited to have this opportunity to bring folks together in this good way.

Native people are people of ceremony. Between all the various Nations represented in the Bay Area there is a wide variety of traditions about welcoming the springtime, but we can all agree that getting together to sing and dance after the challenges of winter, is an important and welcome celebration.

Hosted by Marin American Indian Alliance and Sponsored by Marin Community Foundation.
