Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with the joyful music of Cascada de Flores!
Cascada de Flores plays Música from the heart, for all ages.
This performance will feature the dynamic trio of Arwen Lawrence and Jorge Liceaga on vocals and guitar, and Saúl Sierra on bass.
Cascada de Flores has produced five albums, gives theatrical concerts (such as Radio Flor, a creative and humorous homage to old-time Latin American Radio), scores music for film, shadow-theater and modern dance, and performs in libraries throughout North America. After twenty years, Cascada de Flores still makes their audiences cry, laugh, dance and sing along.
The band name Cascada de Flores continues to be their credo: that the diversity of Mexican culture flows like a waterfall exploding with flowers of all colors; the traditions are deep and varied but living and breathing, and that the effect of their music, while it brings both cultural awareness and pride, should resonate deeper than where differences lie.
“Honoring and advancing tradition, building multicultural bridges, and celebrating life, the performance was a demonstration of the best of what can be done with music.” Review – No Depression The Journal of Roots Music
