This series focuses on the breath as a doorway to deeper connection.

* 5 Fridays, October 20 – November 17, 10:00 am PDT

Dance is the breath made visible.” — Anna Halprin.

Breath is foundational to all of our movement; to life itself. Breath is a universal aspect of spiritual practice and cosmology.

Breath connects us to our bodies, to emotions, to symbol, and metaphor. Breath is a bridge between us and the world, inner and outer, the personal and the universal, soul and spirit.

Using somatic practice and the arts as our companions, this series focuses on the breath as a doorway to deeper connection, awareness, and intimacy with the many aspects of our being.

This special workshop series is composed of five 2-hour sessions.

In this workshop we will :

  • Learn the mechanics of breathing
  • Discover different aspects of the breath through guided somatic explorations
  • Explore connections to deeper layers of our physical, emotional, and mental/symbolic experience through the breath
  • Use the breath as a foundation for movement and dance
  • Use poetry and image-making as creative tools for supporting/reflecting on our encounters with Breath
  • Reflect on and share our experiences with others in a supportive community

Join us to explore what emerges when we follow the breath and allow it to move us… to become visible.

Natan is a dancer, educator, and bodyworker and a member of Tamalpa’s core faculty since 2016. He has extensive teaching experience working directly with Anna Halprin as her teaching assistant in public workshops and classes.
